Shore Excursion for groups in LISBON
During our trip to Lisbon we will try to learn more about this city. In Baixa, the downtown of the city, visit the Rossio Square the most popular squares in Lisbon, the center of which stands the statue of King Dom Pedro IV (less than 27 meters high, its base is adorned with four statues , representing the cardinal virtues attributed to the King Dom Pedro: prudence, strength, justice and temperance).
Also in the Baixa area, we admire the buildings built by the will of the Marquis of Pombal; moving us visit the church of St. Anthony, built in Baroque style and dating from the eighteenth century, the Gothic Cathedral located next door, and finally arrive at the Miradouro de Santa Luzia, the viewpoint that offers us the spectacle of the entire city.
Another place where you can admire the landscape from above is the San Jorge Castle, we visit before coming back down to the Alfama narrow streets and get to Praça do Comércio, on the bank of the river Tagus (Tejo in Portuguese). Nearby is the Town Hall Square, the center of which stands the obelisk of Pelouricho, the Opera Sao Carlos and the Chiado Museum, which collects the best works of contemporary art.
The Bairro Alto will be the last stop on your tour. A neighborhood time of wealthy families, nineteenth took a split personality: on one hand the aristocratic families, the other creative people, artists, restaurants and libraries that are in the spotlight at the weekend.
If sufficient time available, we drive by the majesty of a World Heritage Site in that of another, the magical town of Sintra, known as the capital of romance. Here we achieve a panoramic tour on foot including palaces, castles, and we will have some free time to eat something.
