HOW DO I PAY FOR EXCURSIONS?

After a confirmation email has been sent you can pay in advance by bank transfer or by credit card payment. Alternatively, you can pay the guide in cash on the day of the tour.

1. PAYMENT BY BANK TRANSFER:
You can select this option if you book 15 days before your departure, the payment must be made at least a week before your departure. (Only available for some cruises).

2. PAYMENT IN CASH:
You can also pay the tour guide in euros before commencing the shore excursion. We kindly request you to bring the exact amount as they may not have change for all members of the group.

3. BY CREDIT CARD:
Select the option of cash payment, then send an e-mail or fax with the relevant Credit Card details. We accept Visa and Mastercard, but not American Express.
Please read the Terms and Conditions carefully. In order to complete payment via credit card the Terms and Conditions must be accepted.

WHY DO I HAVE TO GIVE MY CREDIT CARD DETAILS FOR THE BOOKING REQUEST?

No payments will be charged to your credit card and you don’t have to introduce your CVV code, which is necessary for online transactions.

To guarantee your reservation your credit card details are required, this is a simple and common measure for online procedures. Personal data and credit card information is sent through an encrypted secure server.  We use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology which is the standard encryption method used by the online industry (used by Expedia, Booking, etc). We also use a firewall to protect our network against unauthorised access.

Moreover, your information will be erased automatically after you finish your travel. Only in the case of a no-show (non arrival without prior cancellation) will we charge the full amount according to the international bank regulations, as indicated in the Terms and Conditions.

ARE PORTS FEES INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?

Taxes are already included in the prices shown in our website so there are no additional costs. Professionalism, openness and full availability to your concerns are the cornerstones of our services.

HOW DO I BOOK AN EXCURSION?

Once you have selected the excursion you wish to go on, click the Book Now button and complete the form with the required information. Making a booking request takes only a couple of minutes.

After submitting your request, you will automatically receive an email to confirm we have received your details.

As soon as we have put together the tour groups and organised buses and transport for the excursion, we’ll send you a confirmation email to confirm your trip. One week before the departure of your cruise, you’ll receive an email with a voucher containing all the confirmed excursions and relevant information. Please read it carefully as it contains information about the bus, contact numbers and the time and place to meet.

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY EXCURSIONS?

We suggest reserving as soon as possible as tours can become fully booked. When you’ve decided on your itinerary and excursions, make your reservation: you’ll also help us to form the group faster and send out confirmations in advance of the trip.

DOES ANCORA TOURS OFFER PRIVATE GROUPS?

We accept all requests for booking and we form the groups for each cruise and each destination.

If you already have a group – of 6,8 or even 50 people – and would like an exclusive excursion just for you and your group, please visit the Private Excursions section of the site. Here you can not only request excursions, but also request any other service that you may need.

DOES ANCORA TOURS HAVE AN INSURANCE POLICY?

Yes, we’re required by Italian law to have an insurance policy.  Our travel insurance policy number is 300036520 of the company ‘Gruppo Generali’.

WHAT KIND OF INSURANCE IS IT?

This compulsory insurance of civil liability covers the risks and protects tourists while being involved in activities with the travel agency.

IF I BOOK WITH YOU IS THERE A RISK TO MISS MY SHIP?

Absolutely not. Our expertly organised tours mean that we always get passengers back to the cruise ship with plenty of time before departure. Our tour guides and drivers are professionals with in-depth local knowledge and have been selected for their reliability.

In case of any problem, we will contact them. Should there be any delay both the insurance company ‘Gruppo Generali’ and our agency, will assume full responsibility for any moral or economic obligation. If is necessary we will take you to your next port without extra cost.

WHERE WILL WE FIND THE BUS?

Our staff wait for the group with a sign clearly marked with our name and the tour details. In some ports you might need to use a shuttle bus to reach the parking place of our bus.

We make it as easy as possible to find us and we’ll also send you an email with all the necessary information a few days before departure.

WHAT TIME WILL THE BUS BE WAITING FOR US?

The bus will wait early in the morning, according to the time the ship arrives in the port. We advise you to be among the first to get off the boat. The sooner the group gets to the bus, the sooner the excursion will start. In the case of excessive and unjustified delays and if we haven’t heard from you (keep your mobile on!) we will start the shore excursion.

DO I HAVE TO BOOK A SEPARATE SEAT FOR CHILDREN?

Children under 2 years old can sit on an adults lap without paying. As soon they reach their second birthday, they must have their own seat at the normal price.

DO THE DRIVERS SPEAK ENGLISH?

Our drivers speak their own language but since they have been working for several years with tourists, they’ll be able to assist you. Nevertheless you can always count on our English speaking guides to help you in any way and answer your questions. WHAT ARE THE BUSES LIKE?

All our buses are new, clean and with air conditioning. Buses and drivers always have all the required permits needed to enter ports and drive in the city centers.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT ON A SHORE EXCURSION?

Cruise passengers typically have only a short time on land so we have carefully planned every itinerary with the help of our tour guides and drivers.  These professionals know their cities very well and help us to create efficient tours which feature the best places to see of each location. We also take into account suggestions our clients have made during previous excursions.

Our official guides will explain the history behind the squares, churches and monuments and help you enjoy the main attractions of the city. We carefully select all the guides that work for us, confirming that they have their official license and they speak good English.

MINIMUM NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS

Our service is subject to the achievement of a minimum number of participants: failure to reach the number of participants means cancellation of the service.

TYPES OF SERVICE

It’s possible to join our shore excursions by:

1. Joining a group formed from all the booking requests received. We form groups for each cruise and each destination

2. Requesting a private excursion: asking for a personalised service for two or more people. Private excursions do not require a minimum number of participants.
