SHORE EXCURSION Palma de Majorca: itinerary

To start our Palma de Mallorca shore excursion we’ll make the 10 minute drive to the city centre and head to the Cathedral of Santa Maria of Palma. Known locally as La Seu, this Roman Catholic place of worship is a sight to behold. At 44 metres tall it is the highest Gothic cathedral in the world.

We’ll continue in the Old Town, exploring the maze of streets that are home to many tiny tapas bars and traditional souvenir shops. We’ll spend a little time at Plaza Mayor, the largest square in the city.

At Plaza de España, where many of the city’s main streets converge, our bus will take us to Bellver Castle. This Gothic style castle has a unique structure and is one of the few circular castles in Europe. It was built in the 14th century and has been a royal residence and military prison. Today, it is a top tourist attraction and a history museum.

From this landmark of Palma de Mallorca we can enjoy some great views of the landscape before returning to port by bus.
