Shore Excursion Helsinki: itinerary
Our Helsinki shore excursion begins in the historic centre of the city where our tour guide will talk you through the masterpieces of modern architecture.
The first stop is Temppeliaukio Church, a unique structure built directly into solid rock. Inside, you’ll see how the modern copper dome contrasts with the rough, bare rock walls in this unusual place of worship.
We’ll then surround ourselves in the greenery of Esplanadi Park. Both locals and tourists use this public space, with street performers and musicians entertaining the crowds.
Just outside the park we’ll see the Uspenski Orthodox Cathedral and Senate Square. As the oldest part of central Helsinki, Senate Square is the political, religious, scientific and commercial hub of the city.
Moving on to Market Square, our Helsinki shore excursion will finish at one of the most famous tourist attractions in the city. Here, you can buy Finnish food specialties including reindeer meat and munkki, a type of doughnut.
*Shore excursions could be subject to variations due to external causes as Cruise Companies politics, weather conditions, duration of the stay of the ship in the port, legal demonstrations
